Cricket fans are dime a dozen, but those who can meld their passion of cricket with writing, are rare. Deep Mehta is one such cricket aficionado. His career as a sports writer began when he was only 14. He interviewed (and got selected) for a position with TheCricketLounge.com, an online magazine.

His very first article on MS Dhoni received 10,000 visitors. From then on there was no stopping this budding young journo. He wrote match and analytical reports, statistics and humour-based articles. Soon he was promoted to Senior Editor at the magazine. He also started his own blog. Never the one to shy away from a call, he approached eminent sportswriters like Mikkhail Vaswani and Madhav Sharma who helped him hone his journalistic skills.

While his writing career flourished, Deep also developed an abiding interest in industrial engineering. This led him to take the SAT and he made it to the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering program at Purdue. His long-term goal is to start his own venture with his father whom he idolizes. Way to go, Deep!
