“It is a myth that students who want to pursue a business program in India should take the CAT and those who want to do an MBA abroad should take the GMAT,” says Parth Vaishnav, highlighting a crucial fact that colors the decisions of many MBA aspirants in India. He continues, “the fact is that many Indian B-schools now accept GMAT scores.”

A mechanical engineering grad from Manipal University, Parth Vaishnav, decided to take the GMAT. With a 2+ year of work experience in sales, he believed it was time for a change. Specifically, he was looking to transition from a technical role to a managerial one. An MBA from a Top 50 university would arm him with the skills necessary to make that jump. He joined the weekend batch at Jamboree and assiduously went through all the study material. His smart work paid off and he scored a 710 on the GMAT. ‘Focus on arriving at the solution, not on the method’ is his advice for GMAT takers. Well said, Parth!
