Purdue University—West Lafayette is a public university that was established in 1869. West Lafayette Campus of Purdue University

Purdue's campus is in West Lafayette, near the western bank of the Wabash River, which separates the smaller city of Lafayette from the larger city of Lafayette. State Street, which runs parallel to State Road 26, separates the northern and southern parts of campus.

Academic buildings are mostly concentrated in the east and south of campus, while residence halls and intramural fields are to the west and athletic facilities are to the north. The Greater Lafayette Public Transportation Corporation (CityBus) runs eight campus loop bus routes that students, faculty, and staff can use for free with their Purdue ID. Purdue University—West Lafayette provides a variety of student services, such as nonremedial tutoring, a women's center, placement service, daycare, health service, and health insurance.
