Quality Education in France:

Public universities in France offer high-quality education that is surprisingly affordable. They provide students with enriching opportunities in practical learning and research. French universities follow tried and tested pedagogy that focuses on classroom instruction supported by internships. On graduation, students can stay back for two years and get paid employment in France.

For Indian students, the French government and universities offer numerous scholarships and grants. Courses like MBA, MIM, and other Masters’ programs in France are popular among Indian students. Of late, many students are also pursuing their bachelor;s from France.

Affordable Education in France:

French universities not only offer world-class education, but the tuition fees are also relatively modest. National students and permanent residents of EEA countries and Switzerland can study tuition-free (only an immatriculation or registration fee of around 200 euros per year is charged). Here’s why you should choose FRANCE

as your study destination:

France offers amazing career prospects to international students. Top-class universities with world's leading academicians, generous scholarships, good industry-academia connect and plenty of job opportunities after graduation attract many Indian students to study in France.

8000+ Indian students go to study in France every year. To study in France, you would first need to create your profile on Etudes en France website. You will be required to provide your personal information, academic record, language skills, CV, and SOP. You would also need to submit your motivation letter for the programs that you are interested in and will need to pay Campus France processing fee (INR 16,500). Once you are done, a Campus France advisor will review your documents and give you an appointment date for the academic interview that may be online or in-person. During the academic interview your original documents will be verified and returned to you. Thereafter, you will start getting offers from universities. Once you accept an offer, pay the fees, and get admission into a certain university, you can begin your visa process.

You will be required to take the SAT or ACT (optional). You will need to submit your official transcripts and TOEFL/IELTS scores at individual university websites. University website is the best source of score requirements, but TOEFL score above 85 or IELTS score above 6.5 is recommended. Students should also have a valid passport at the time of application.

After your academic interview you will be required to apply online for your visa. You will need to create a France-visas account and schedule an appointment with VFS-France to submit your documents and passport. This will be done in-person at a listed VFS center. Once you arrive in France, you will have to register yourself and validate your visa within 3 months. This will ensure that you will become a legal resident in France.

Once you have graduated from a university in France you can only stay in France if you have a promise of employment or a work contract and are paid at least one and a half times the minimum wage. Or else you will need to request for temporary residence permit which will be valid for one year. You must fill the form when your current residence permit is still valid.

If you have lived in France for a period of 5 years continuously, you become eligible for a carte de resident or PR. This type of residence permit allows you to live and work in France for 10 years. It can be renewed an unlimited number of times. You are granted PR depending upon your earning and financial stability, how well you integrate into the French society and your language skills.

Many types of scholarships, fellowships and grants are available to Indian students by the French government and by higher education institutes or other organizations. Some of them are Charpak Scholarship, Eiffel Scholarship of Excellence, MOPGA scholarship, etc. Students looking for scholarships should refer to Campus Bourses at Campus France website, an online search engine for scholarships to study in France.

To study in France, you should have an acceptance letter or conditional offer from an institute of higher learning. You should also have a valid passport, cover letter, proof of funding, health insurance, proof of accommodation and flight ticket. It takes 15 to 60 days to get your visa approved.
