You will see your score for the math and verbal sections the moment you finish the exam, but official scores (with scores for AWA) will take about 7-10 days to reach you.
Universities only accept official scores sent directly by the ETS. Scores to four colleges can be sent free of cost while taking the exam. Subsequently, for each score report sent to a college, you would have to pay USD 30.
Almost all the universities take the best score. If you have taken the GRE multiple times, you can choose the score that you want to send to the university.
Yes, you need to have the GRE score with you at the time of applying. However, you need not have the AWA score.
See the complete list of institutions (PDF) using GRE scores and their official ETS code number. Reinstatement
Cancelled scores can be reinstated within 60 days by paying a fee of

GRE is a standardised test used by top universities across the USA and Canada and some other countries to test applicants for their academic readiness of a graduate program.

The GRE exam score is a requirement for admission to graduate programs of several top universities across the world. With the right GRE preparation, a good GRE score gives you an edge over other applicants in the application pool.

ETS conducts two types of GRE exams - The GRE General Test, which is used as the primary criteria for your admission into any master’s program. And the GRE Subject Tests, which are taken by students choosing to specialise in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology.

Anyone can take the GRE. ETS has specified no age limit or minimum qualification to take the GRE. In total honesty, there will be a range of eligibility criteria set by the universities that accept GRE scores.

The GRE exam fee in India is $220.

There are no specific dates announced for the GRE, you can practically take the test whenever you feel your GRE prep is on point. There is also no lifetime limit on the number of times you can take the GRE exam, but you can only take five attempts within any continuous rolling 12-month period.

If you have to retake the GRE exam due to any reason, you will have to wait for a minimum of 21 days before you can take your next attempt. This is just ETS's way of saying that you should take some time to really outdo your last GRE score with a more robust GRE prep, and we agree!
