Well, whatever may be the case it is possible to reschedule GRE in the event that you cannot attend an already scheduled test. Can I reschedule my GRE at home?

Yes, you can reschedule GRE at home without forfeiting your test fee.

GRE at home is the remotely proctored GRE that you can take from your home. You can reschedule GRE at home online through your ETS account no later than 4 days before the test day.

You can also change the location of your exam by rescheduling a test centre GRE appointment to GRE at home.

How much is the GRE reschedule fee?

Rescheduling GRE will cost you $50 (INR 3,707). The deadline to reschedule GRE is 4 days before the scheduled test day unless you are in China in which case the deadline is 10 days and GRE reschedule fee is $53.90.

How to reschedule GRE at home?

GRE at home can be easily rescheduled online through your ETS Account. Given below is a step-by-step guide to reschedule GRE at home:

  • STEP-1: Log in to your ETS Account

You can log in to your ETS account and select the GRE at home test appointment that you want to reschedule. Click on the test date you wish to reschedule from the ‘My Tests’ column appearing in the left corner of the page under ‘Upcoming tests’

Now click on ‘Reschedule Appointment’ at the top right corner on the test appointment details page. This is demonstrated below:

  • STEP-2: Selecting a test date and time

You can change the date and the location of your GRE General test or GRE Subject Test. However, you cannot change your appointment from a General test to a Subject test or vice versa. Now choose the 2-month window within which you would like to take the test.

Confirm your time zone or choose a new time zone based on your situation. All available test dates appear in the colour green. Select an available test date from the two-month calendar.

Then select an available time for the test and click on ‘Register for the test’

  • STEP-3: Review test date and time

Although this might seem like an unnecessary step but an oopsy here can cost you $50. So we suggest reviewing your test date, time, and time zone.

  • STEP-4: Pay GRE reschedule fee

Review your order summary, pick a payment method (Credit card/PayPal) and proceed to checkout.

Once your payment is verified, check your mail for a confirmation email with your rescheduled test information. The confirmation email will also have the test link to launch your test on the test day. Make sure to keep your confirmation mail secured and voila! You have rescheduled your GRE at home test.

How to reschedule GRE at centre?

Rescheduling GRE at centre is not a lot different from GRE at home except you do need to pick a testing location and also there are limited choices for picking a time to take your GRE.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to reschedule GRE at centre:

  • STEP-1: Log in to your ETS Account

The first step to reschedule GRE at centre online is to log in to your ETS account and select the test you want to reschedule from the ‘Upcoming Tests’ panel on the left.

  • STEP-2: Selecting a test date, location and time

Find the test centres at or near your location by manually entering your location or checking the ‘Use my location’ checkbox. Now pick out the two month period when you would like to take the test and then click ‘Continue’.

You may choose any date from the calendar that shows available seats. Now choose a location for your selected date and click on ‘Show Test Times’ to pick a test time that suits you and click ‘Register’. If you can’t find a time that suits you, SETTLE.

After clicking on register, a popup window will appear confirming you want to reschedule GRE. If the information is correct, click on ‘Yes’ to continue.

  • STEP-3: Review testing information

Carefully review the date, time, and location of your rescheduled test as otherwise what’s the point.

  • STEP-4: Pay GRE reschedule fee

Review your order summary, pick a payment method (Credit card/PayPal) and proceed to checkout. GRE reschedule fee is $50 by the way.
