How much did Kartik score on GMAT?

GMAT exam as we know comprises of three sections including:

  • Quantitative Reasoning
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Data Insights

Let’s break down Kartik’s score into section-wise scores. Kartik Vashist scored a total of 715 in GMAT exam and breaking down to the section-wise score, he scored 88 in Quant, 84 in Verbal and 84 in Data Insights. Out of 90, this was his total scores in each section.

How was his experience with the exam?

Kartik was sure that he wanted to take up GMAT and thus wanted his GMAT exam prep to be the best. He then started to figure out ways to achieve a great score and how to prepare well for the GMAT exam. In the process he started to analyze his strengths and weaknesses and the major thing he analyzed was that he is good in maths and data sufficiency. Apart from his strengths, he even tried to analyze his weaknesses, which was the verbal section. If you are able to identify your weak areas then half of the battle is won. Kartik figured out that he is weak in the verbal area during his early GMAT preparation and accordingly he made adjustments to his GMAT prep so that he could improve his score in that particular section.

How was his actual exam day?

As far as the day of the exam is concerned, Kartik was not nervous because he knew that he had given his 100% and prepared well in the best possible way he could. He was sure that the score which he will be able to achieve will be the score he deserved. So, he was at peace with his thoughts on the actual exam day.

How was his experience with Jamboree in particular?

His experience with Jamboree was pretty good because Jamboree offered a comprehensive GMAT coaching. Irrespective of the fact that he opted for GMAT online coaching, he was satisfied in terms of everything. As he had opted for online GMAT training, he has his online classes and then there were recordings that helped him a lot since he was a working professional.

As mentioned above, preparing for the GMAT exam while you are working can get extremely tough, but Kartik managed it really well.

  • When he had work commitments he could not attend the classes, however with the help of the recordings he used to study the concept later.
  • He finds classwork and homework sections important and helpful because with that he was able to grasp the concepts well. He acknowledged the fact that practice is important irrespective of how good you are in a particular section or subject.
  • A section-wise breakdown is equally important as you must start with easier questions first and then gradually you can move to the difficult GMAT questions. He shared an insight that as the GMAT classes progress, the questions get tougher, so the importance of practice cannot be ignored.
  • Apart from the classroom and homework there are a lot of other resources that Jamboree offers. Jamboree offers the best GMAT coaching tutors and you can reach out to them anytime you want to.
  • Then there are advanced GMAT sections which actually prepare you well for the real GMAT exam. The advantage of the advanced section is that you get to practice more of your weak section.

Thus, he had a great GMAT exam preparation with Jamboree and he was satisfied with the overall GMAT prep.

How did Jamboree help him in improving his verbal score?

There are 23 questions in the verbal section and when I started my GMAT prep he was getting around 8 to 9 questions wrong in this section which could result in a very poor score. So, he thinks that practice here plays an important role too just like in all other sections. One must make sure that you attend the classes regularly. The best GMAT tutors with Jamboree guides you well and highlight the key points. They make you understand phrases in a particular way in which students can understand it better. After understanding then comes practicing your classwork and homework sections and in advance GMAT he did not miss a single session in verbal especially.

Then comes the reading comprehension for which you really need to be extra careful because you will have to look for the answers from the passage itself. Kartik was finding reading comprehension a bit difficult in the beginning and he realised that this was his weak section too. So, he tried to focus more on that. The recordings helped him a lot, however at the end of the day he realised that practice is all you need and it is with practice only that you can clear the GMAT exam.

How did he manage working full time while preparing for the exam?

He constantly juggled between his work and GMAT prep thus, initially it was difficult for him as his work hours could get extended at times thereby, making his GMAT exam preparation difficult. He usually used to prepare during the night time or on the weekend. After he decided his GMAT exam date, he started thorough preparation by managing a few days off from his work in order to prepare for the GMAT exam.

“At the end of the day it is all about your determination” says Kartik Vashist and he was determined to clear his GMAT exam.

What advice would he like to give to other working professionals starting GMAT exam prep?

“While you are working, getting back to studies is quite challenging, but once you have chosen that path it starts to happen on its own.” says Kartik Vashist. His advice to working professionals going for GMAT prep is:

  • Make sure that your goal of doing GMAT is clear and once you decide then do whatever it takes to achieve that.
  • Working professionals must find time for GMAT exam preparation. Jamboree offers the best GMAT coaching.
  • Find time to study for your GMAT prep everyday and don’t skip out on days. It’s important to soldier on and stick to your GMAT preparation despite all the odds.
  • Choose the prep mode that suits you the best.

Did he find online classes helpful?

Kartik opted for online classes that suited him the most and were convenient for him since he was working. Also, if he could not attend any class because of his work schedule, then he could simply learn that concept from the recordings that were available. Practice is something which remains constant throughout your GMAT exam preparation.
