MS Actuarial science :

 

– What is it? Actuarial science is the discipline that applies mathematical and statistical methods to assess risk in insurance, finance and other industries and professions. Actuaries are professionals in charge of designing products to handle the economic needs of the people and to protect their financial interests.

– Who can apply? Undergraduates with a strong background in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, physics, economics, computer science, accounting, or finance; knowledge of elementary economics, linear algebra, and multivariate calculus are mandatory .

– What are the job opportunities? Actuaries are business professionals who use mathematical skills to define, analyze, and solve business and social problems. They are generally employed in life, health, and property/casualty insurance companies, financial institutions, consulting firms, and government. The occupation of actuary has been ranked for many years as one of the top ten jobs in the USA.

Tips (Sentence Completion)

In 2-blank and 3-blank questions, do not try to solve one blank at a time. The blanks are dependent on one another. So, read the entire question first, try to identify keywords and then solve for the blanks.
